Good value, minor issue

I booked a flight plus hotel package for a trip to Bangkok. The price was really competitive, especially compared to other airlines. The flight itself was fine, basic but got me there. The hotel AirAsia partnered with was also decent for the price. My main gripe was with the seat selection process; it felt a bit clunky on the app, and I ended up paying extra for a window seat that wasn't clearly marked as such until after payment. Delivery of booking confirmation was quick, though. Overall, good value but could use some UX improvements.

Consistent service for flights

Booked another domestic flight, this time from KL to Penang. The experience was pretty much what I expected from AirAsia. I've flown with them many times for work trips, and they're reliable for getting me where I need to go without fuss. Checked baggage allowance was just right for a short trip, and check-in was smooth as usual on the app. It's why I keep coming back.

Amazing holiday tour!

Just got back from a holiday tour booked through AirAsia, and it was fantastic! Everything was so easy to arrange, from the flights to the activities. We did the Elephant Sanctuary tour, and it was an unforgettable experience. The guides were great, and the whole package was incredibly well-organized. I will definitely use AirAsia for my next adventure!

Anyone know if I can use a promo code when booking a hotel through the AirAsia app?

L Laura Torres 2 months ago
Yeah, I think you can. I've definitely seen options for applying codes to hotel or package deals, not just flights. Just look for the promo code box during checkout.

Pretty sure most codes are for flights. I'd double check the fine print on the specific promo you're looking at. Sometimes they're really strict about what it applies to.

Thinking of booking a flight for a trip next month, but wondering how reliable AirAsia is. I've heard mixed things.

They're a budget airline so don't expect Singapore Airlines service lol. But for getting from A to B cheaply, they're pretty good. I've flown with them a bunch.

Reliability is okay for the price point. Just be prepared for potential delays sometimes, like any budget carrier. Make sure you read up on all the extra charges too for things like baggage and food.

How does AirAsia compare to Scoot for long-haul flights? Considering a trip to Australia.

D Daisy Silva 2 months ago
AirAsia X (their long-haul arm) and Scoot are pretty similar budget-wise. Both nickel and dime you for everything. Seat comfort might be slightly better on one over the other depending on the aircraft, but honestly, it's a toss-up.

I'd compare the baggage policies very carefully, that's where they often get ya. Also, check their schedules for your specific dates, sometimes one has better timings than the other for longer routes.

Is the 'free seats' deal actually free, or do you still have to pay a bunch of hidden fees?

S Sarah Silva 1 month ago
It's not totally free, you always pay the taxes and fees. But the base fare is zero. So it's still a really good deal, just factor in the other costs.

Yeah, 'zero fare' or 'free seats' usually means you cover the airport taxes and fuel surcharges. Still way cheaper than a regular ticket though, especially for domestic routes.
